30 August 2018, Bangkok - Waldorf Astoria's first hotel in Southeast Asia is now officially open at MQDC's Magnolias Ratchadamri Boulevard (MRB).
The ultra-luxury Waldorf Astoria Bangkok launched with a press conference at Peacock Alley, a restaurant on its upper lobby with spectacular views over the Royal Bangkok Sports Club.
Waldorf Astoria is the flagship brand of the Hilton Group, carrying forward the legacy of the Waldorf Astoria New York. The legendary Park Avenue hotel is credited with inventing room service as well as martinis, red velvet cake, eggs benedict, and Waldorf salad.
MQDC CEO Khun Visit Malaisirirat spoke at the launch alongside Hilton executives and the designer André Fu.
"MQDC is honored to partner with Hilton, a longstanding global leader in the hotel industry, in introducing the first Waldorf Astoria property in Southeast Asia," said Mr Malaisirirat.
"With this prestigious alliance, MQDC makes an important strategic move into ultra-luxury hospitality. I am confident that Magnolias Ratchadamri Boulevard, with its landmark location and iconic architecture, can complement perfectly such a preeminent global brand as Waldorf Astoria. We look forward to helping ensure seamless luxury for guests and residents."
