MQDC and Blue Carbon Society Continue ‘Coastal Cleanup’

19 March 2021, Chonburi – MQDC with Blue Carbon Society, local environment volunteers, and the Municipality of Na Jomtien has continued its “Coastal Cleanup” at Na Jomtien.

Blue Carbon Society is a DTGO-linked non-profit set up by Dr. Jwanwat and Mrs. Thippaporn Ahriyavraromp, the founder of DTGO, the parent group of MQDC.

The foundation inspires action to conserve and restore coastal and marine environments vital to combating climate change.

The project aims to promote coastal conservation by collecting waste on the beach of Ban Amphur, enhancing the environment amid the decline in tourism.

Mr. Wanchat Wannapharah, Deputy District Chief, Sattahip (Specialized Administrative Officers), led the latest activity on behalf of Sattahip District.

Celebrity actor Mr. Saksit Tangthong joined with 500 volunteers from 35 public- and private-sector organizations including Trash Hero, hotel workers, and pupils from local schools, together gathering 800kg of waste.

The local plastic waste processing community enterprise demonstrated how ocean debris can be upcycled into bricks, adding value to waste and raising environmental awareness.
